Here I am reading a great book about the Civil War on Kindle (downloaded as an application) on my brand new MacBook Pro.

So one does not need to buy the Kindle hardware. It works great as an app on a computer or on an iPad. I prefer this laptop since I can balance the machine on a table and don't have to hold the hardware.

I also read "real" books and enjoying listening to some audio books on m iPod.
