Driving along the Smith River yesterday evening, I noticed the water level was up. As I got closer to Bassett, a deep mist began to form over the water. I am guessing that they were releasing water from Philpott dam a few miles up stream, and the cold water from the bottom of the lake flowing down the river, mixed with the warm humid air causing the mist.
