Am a visitor from India.Have not seen many birds in UK. Ofcourse the pigeons, starlings, doves, blackbirds and the magpies can be seen in fair numbers.Water birds in and around ponds and the gulls near the sea coasts also mark their presence in fair numbers. Bird in general, however, seem to be too few in numbers and are possibly shy. Both the children and the adults do not seem to be very kind to the birds and shoo them off. This is unlike in India where bird life is varied and plentiful .This is possibly due to greater availability of food,a warmer climate and friendlier people. Sighting a European robin, identified from the photogrph here, about 0930 hours on July 22nd,2007 in the OAKWOODS PARK AT Salford ,Manchester was a pleasent surprise. The picture gallery of birds is delightful and very informative.
