E100rs Lens Barrel Stress

The E100rs doesn't have a screw on either side of the lensbarrel such as are present on the C2100uz
Therefore, it is recommended that any extra glass be held underneath to prevent misalignment. Rest assured, this design flaw effects only the outer lensbarrel. At no time does the lens itself ever move in relation to the ccd. Only the lens barrel & any additional lens attached to it misaligns slightly in relation to the E100 lens.
Notice no gap in groove directly below the front of the flash compartment. Also notice the side of the barrel rubber is blank.
EZ Normal
Notice no gap in groove directly below the front of the flash compartment. Also notice the side of the barrel rubber is blank. Bearing the weight of extra glass. Notice the gap that appears in previously tight groove below the front of flash compartment.
EZ Stressed
Bearing the weight of extra glass. Notice the gap that appears in previously tight groove below the front of flash compartment.
Notice the screw present on either side of the lensbarrel of the c2100 which is not present on the previously displayed E100. No gap appears at anytime when the weight of extra glass is attached.
UZ Side
Notice the screw present on either side of the lensbarrel of the c2100 which is not present on the previously displayed E100. No gap appears at anytime when the weight of extra glass is attached. Notice the bottom of the E100 has two screws in the rubber. Evidently Oly thinks this is a better design that may make for better support.
EZ Bottom
Notice the bottom of the E100 has two screws in the rubber. Evidently Oly thinks this is a better design that may make for better support.
Notice only one screw in the bottom of the C2100.
UZ Bottom
Notice only one screw in the bottom of the C2100. Summation: For better lensbarrel integrity. One screw in both sides and bottom beats two screws in bottom when added weight of extra glass is attached to lensbarrel.
Stressed Pod
Summation: For better lensbarrel integrity. One screw in both sides and bottom beats two screws in bottom when added weight of extra glass is attached to lensbarrel.
