In the Lysekloster ruins,a cistercienser monastery established in the year 1146 by monks from Fountains Abbey in England. It was in use until 1536 when it was closed during the Reformation.This picture shows the courtyard of the cloisters with the only remaining pillars. Most of the stones of the buildings were taken from here in 1578 and brought to Copenhagen where they were used in the Kronborg Castle during the danish rule of Norway.
