Last year we often traveled with other boats. That was fun and offered great socialization.
This year, we are traveling alone because we waited until mid-January to leave.
It is nice to be able to leave an anchorage at our own pace and choose our own speed to travel.
Our concern about the depth of the river bottom involves only Shibumi and not the deeper keels of other vessels in the fleet.
This makes for a nice leisurely pace.
We will probably sail with other ships as we get further south. But single ship travel has great appeal to us too.
