We decided that sometime between the 11th and the 16th of January would be our departure date.

Firm schedules tend to get folks in trouble with weather and rough seas.
For the same reason definite destinations are not popular with most crusiers.
Ask a cruiser where he is going and he will likely tell you where he is shooting for.
But all plans are flexible, with wind and the weather calling the final shots.
Racing sailors are different. But Jill and I never raced, so flexibiliy is our mantra.
