Norman's Cay - Previous Visit

I dug out previously unpublished shots, that I took in the middle Exumas, in response to a comment I received recently:

"Would love to know if you saw any homes there. My family built one there in the '70s, had a round center living area, with a large, round, tall stone fireplace structure jutting through the middle, with bedroom wings off to each side. Still think about going back to see what's left, if anything."

While on the island I saw many occupied private dwellings but did not photograph them. On Page 2 of this series I posted 5 Google Earth maps of Norman's Cay. I hope they help Bonnie in the search for the old home place.

what bonnie describes is the Carlos Ledher house, def she should go back and take a look. Whats the co-ord for the house? hard to find on google maps as its overgrown

The property in #1 was the origional club house, store, docks etc built by Al Watt in the early 1960's.

Which house in your map is that of Lehder's previous home? Property 1, 2, or 3?

The home that Bonnie describes in her comment is the home that Carlos Lehder occupied during his tenure on the island. It was named Volcano. The house is recognizable, but unlivable. The property has an absolutely beautiful view! Many great pictures from there! It is very difficult to see on Google Earth, very overgrown. The property is difficult to find, unless you know where it is.
