Lived here from '65 to '71 in Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Was named Andrea Browall then. Have not been back since '71 and was amazed at the photos today, seeing the grass all gone, the roads cracked and weedy, our house on Oasis absent off it's foundation, and all the lines of the landscape blurred by a layer of sand. I noticed that some of the aerial photos and maps label Kaiser Elementary as the high school. The high school was the outermost school. I remember walking to the end of Oasis avenue in my school dress and patent leather shoes and then walking down the large gravel slope to get to the road, crossing the road and walking along that sidewalk in front of the elementary school to get to school. Really nice little school. Have wondered what happened to Charlene Smith and Paul Erdmann after all these years. I also remember a Yolanda. Can't remember all the names of the people I remember, but wish I could go back and see. Does anyone have any 8mm movies of the town or personal photos from when it was green and shiny? I know my mom has some, but I haven't been able to get them from her. Would love to see scanned copies.
