Gulf Fritillary

This is one of several Gulf Fritillaries that we raised from small caterpillars. I rescued the caterpillars from a construction area--they were about to be bulldozed. This one didn't want to fly away on its own; I had to lift it out of the container. The photo was taken outside in my backyard, but the background was boring blurry lawn. I had a bad week, so I indulged myself and played with PhotoShop for a while today. The swirl brush is from Anna Aspnes.

So glad to hear you rescued the caterpillars and gave these beautiful insects a chance. This is a fabulous photo and love the background. V
