Susa Group

The Susa group is the largest habituated group of mountain gorillas. About 40 individuals with 5 silverbacks. This is one of the original groups studied by Dian Fossey 30 years ago, and a couple of the older adults were around in those days. This was by far our most difficult hike - about 2.5 hours at 10,000 feet in very rough terrain. It was worth it.
