The children were a highlight of the trip. We met them everywhere we went. They were always glad to see us and eager to practice their english. We were asked a few times if we knew Barack Obama. We visited a primary school in Rwanda (see the Nkenke Gallery below) and an orphange in Uganda. There are over 2 million orphans in Uganda, most due to aids and malaria. There are 1 million in Rwanda including teenagers orphaned in the genocide 15 years ago.
