January 22, 2024 we flew Qatar Airways to Singapore on 2 long flights. We then spent a night at the Hotel 1900, a modest, well-located hotel in Chinatown. It was the week before the new Lunar New Year and the city was all aglow and all abuzz. It was a steam bath, with downpours at dinner time. We ate outside under cover, sharing a table at a casual Asian restaurant near by. The next day we were treated by Oceania to a pre-extension package. Our hotel was the posh Fullerton, and the package included 2 days of touring. On the third day, we were taken to our ship, Riviera, for a 15 day cruise through SE Asia.
