Ocotillo flower

Flowers usually bloom between February and May; they are red, tubular, each about an inch long, and grow in clusters at the ends of the ocotillo branches.

Yet more proof of the abounding beauty and variety of nature, found in the unlikeliest of places. These flowers, to me, are reminiscent of undersea "blossoms".

So unique..a plant we do not have the luxury of seeing here in the South. I liked the lilies from yesterday as well. Perhaps the same that grow wild along our highways at times.

Your vision of the West has made me hunger for more. How I would love to see it for myself. Meanwhile, continue sharing.
