The Lytro camera is a very different camera. I will not try to explain how it works on these pages so I would suggest you Google it and read for yourself.
I have this camera. I find that I only get good results from it if I have an object or objects close by that is not too bulky, such that you can see through it at more distant subjects. To look at the image, then I am guessing you are seeing no more than 0.5 megapixels at any one time.
