Brass quahaug shell

A quahaug shell copied in brass as a door knocker. Quahaugs or quahogs are used in chowders and in pies. The pies are made with cubed boiled potatoes, onions, chopped quahaugs and a thick creamy sauce within the pie crust. Betty Cooper of Plainville, Massachusetts made the best quahaug pies in all of New England.
