Known for the cool crisp air, a place where tourists as wel as natives come to cool down and enjoy the scenery of montane forests and tea plantations.
A cool climate also bring unusual plants. Many orchids and Nepenthes can be found here if you know where to look.

Sadly the Cameron Highlands are currently under severe threat by mismanagement of the Malaysian government. They fail to understand that if you want crisp forests and sources of healthy fresh water streams you need vast patches of woodland. not some specs of "protected" area surrounded by tea plantations and urbanization. The results is that the mossy forests are drying out as we speak. Species will go extincts and the rivers swill eventually stop streaming unless there is a total downpour with the usual mud floods.
