Calanthe candida Bosser, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat., B, Adansonia 11: 34 (1989).
Officially this name is now a synonym of Calanthe sylvatica (Thouars) Lindl., Gen. Sp. Orchid. Pl.: 250 (1833).
However these two species are very easy to tell apart as the plant is always much smaller, make large leafy bracts on the flowerspike, the flowers have a sharp angle in the spur and a diferent lip shape. Also these two species do not seem to make intermediate forms or hybrids.
If this is truly the same as Calanthe sylvatica, many of the Calanthe triplicata lookalike species that are recognised today could also be dismissed.
