Haines, Alaska is about 70 miles north of Juneau and is a beautiful little town unspoiled by massive cruise ship invasions. Diamonds international does not have a store there. Beautiful views of the Takhinsha mountains to the west and the Chilkoot range to the east abound. Stan, owner of Lucy’s taxi service drove us around the area and pointed us to a funky bar with the best fresh halibut we have ever had.
