Bangkok, Thailand was the first major city we visited on the cruise.  We spent most of our short time touring the Grand Palace.  It was certainly interesting but was not the only place to visit in a famous city.  We would have like to visit some of the neighborhoods and the now gleaming city center with new high-rise buildings.  We seemed to be having some communication difficulties with the guide.  Nonetheless, we enjoyed the tour.
