The former Royal Navy Phantom FG.1's ended up with 43 and 111sqdn at RAF Leuchars, Scotland. This 43sqdn 'The Fighting Cocks' FG.1, XV576/AD, entered service in June 1969. Pictured at Twenthe in July 1987, it looks smart and crisp in its fresh grey c/s. In 1992, XV576 was scrapped. 43sqdn replaced its Phantoms by Tornado F.3's in September 1989.
