The Czech air force has seen many budget cuts in the 1990's, mostly the result of splitting up the country into a seperate Czech and Slovak Republic on January 1st, 1993. Both countries recieved 9 MiG-29's each and the expensive-to-fly type quickly was soc in 1994. Several Czech MiG-29A's went to Poland, such as this 5414 (which became '54' and is still reported to be active). Here it still is seen in its original Czech c/s in July 1993, shortly before the disbandment of its unit 11SLP (11. Stíhací Letecký Pluk) at Zatec.
