Pre-production Agusta A.129A Mangusta MM598 E.I.905 (c/n 29005), serving with CALE, pictured at Deelen, July 1988. At the time, the type was in the race to become the first Dutch attack helicopter. In 1990 unfortunately, the AH-64 Apache was selected for the Dutch air force. In 1990, the first of 60 production A.129's also found there way to the Italian air force. This MM598 served as the prototype for the CBT (ComBaT) upgrade too, before it was retired. MM598 now is on display at Cascina Costa.
