The last airworthy militairy Hawker Hunter within the RAF was this FGA.9 XE601, here pictured belonging to yet another test unit, the A&AEE. Built in 1956 as F.6, it was converted to FGA.9 in 1964. In 1966 it joined A&AEE at Boscombe Down and the Hunter stayed there until its final retirement in 1998. After a few years of storage and neglect, it was brought back to (civilian) life as G-ETPS.
