F-104G 26+30 (c/n 9182) of Luftwaffenversorgungsregiment (LVR) 1 (based at Erding) on display at Norvenich during an open day. This was one of the last active German F-104's. Another German open day on the same date (August 28th, 1988), at Ramstein, became world news due to the tragic crash of several Frecce Tricolore MB-339's, killing over 40 people.
