Amongst all modern Russian hardware in East Germany, the venerable Antonov 2 Colt stood out a bit. Designed shortly after WWII, production (in Poland) lasted well into the 1990's. Here, An-2TD 1G9801/27(r) of 19GvAPIB is seen at Finow. Several jet regiments used An-2's and Mil Mi-8's for baseflight duties. At the time, 19GvAPIB flew MiG-27's from Rechlin-Larz.
