Almost 10% of the territory of the former German Democratic Republic was in use for military purposes. The Soviet 16th Air Army alone had some 30 airbases in use. One of the most important one was Welzow, where 11 ORAP flew with the Su-24 Fencer and MiG-25 Foxbat, both very intriguing aircraft. Su-24MR Fencer-E 0515326/06(w) seen landing at Welzow, late in the afternoon in October 1991. 11.ORAP went to Selo Marinovka on June 15th, 1993 and the unit still is active there.
