Short SC.5 Belfast RP-C8020

CNS

One of just two Belfasts left in the world resides at Cairns airport. Starting problems keep it on the ground and it seems this big one is going nowhere. Let's hope there still are flying hours destined for this ugly beauty, but it may be too big to preserve. This is the former RAF 53sqdn XR365 'Hector', one of just 10 Short Belfasts built in the 1960's.

I doubt it is 100% airworthy now, I hope it isn't just seen as a means of transport, but also as an aircraft with historic value. Thanks.

I didn't realise there were any Belfasts left airworthy. I remember them when they flew with RAF.
Great galleries and have been added to my favourites.
