The beautiful, strange Buccaneer... With its folded wings, Buccaneer S.2A XT284 first served with the Royal Navy from RNAS Lossiemouth after entering service om December 13th, 1965. The Bucc also flew from the HMS Ark Royal. By late 1973 it was brought to the RAF- standard by BAe at Brough. Between 1975 and 1983 it flew from RAF Honington and RAFG Laarbruch, before being retired to 19MU storage at St. Athan (8855M). In 1985 XT284 went to Abingdon for BDR- training. As such it was photographed in July, 1988. The Buccaneer was scrapped a few years later.
