I am going to visit San Francisco on my birthday August 27th- I will stay till August 30th. I am going (or attempt to) walk the length of the Golden Gate Bridge, as I did in 1971. It will be a thrill to visit my old workplace, and also where I used to live. I only know one person there (an irish artist) he refuses any contact with me, unfortunately, my husband and I would love to take him and his family out to dinner, and since we will only be there a few days, we want to make the most of our visit.

I WISH I COULD VISIT, SAN FRANCISCO, AGAIN, EVEN FOR A FEW DAYS. THE LAST TIME I WAS THERE, WAS 1983. I MISS SAN FRANCISCO, TERRIBLY, AND I AM HEARTSICK, BECAUSE AT THE PRESENT TIME, CIRCUMSTANCES, PREVENT ME FROM GOING. DOES ANYONE REMEMBER LANA MOFFO (BIG RED) FROM THE FEDERAL BLDG. Really, San Francisco is a beautiful city and a nice one to live in. You guys are doing a great job, here, keep it up. I wish I could have an opportunity to visit this historic city of San Francisco.

Beautiful photos, but they make me so sad and nostalgic. I lived in San Francisco, March 70-June 71. Unfortunately Philly is my home, and due to circumstances I doubt I will ever see this beautiful city once more.

How I miss this magnificent city. I lived at 7630 Geary and 1417 Clement from 1970-71. I worked at the Federal Bldg. on Golden Gate Avenue. Unfortunate circumstances made me move back to Philadelphia, june 1971. Now instead of beautiful mountains and the Golden Gate, I am packed in with 24 inches of snow, obnoxious people, and a very unhappy life. San Francisco was like Heaven on Earth!!!

Great shots! I disagree with "san franciscan"; sounds like he prefers the dirt and grime which you get in any city. I'm a native so don't call it "frisco." Gosh!
