Notes on the back of this photo indicate that it was taken on July 12, 1941 at which time DiMaggio had hit safely in 50 consecutive games. During this game he would extend his streak to 51 games. The streak would end in Cleveland five days after this picture was taken. His feat of hitting in 56 consecutive games is a record that baseball experts believe will never be broken.
