Gray Francolin

Francolinus pondicerianus

Originally from India and the Middle East, they were first introduced to Hawaii
in 1958 for game-bird hunting. They can be found on all the main islands except
Ni'ihau and Kaho'olawe. They prefer drier shrubland and savannah habitat in leeward
and coastal areas but also do well in plantations and golf courses. They may also
be seen on hotel lawns too, as this one was where we were staying.

high quality capture...it does look plump as a game bird doubtless should...the brown and russet colours are so attractive..
