Zebra Dove (Manuku)

Geopelia striata

Introduced to O'ahu in 1922, these small doves are now common across all of the main Hawaiian Islands.
They are found in urban and suburban habitats, where they search for seeds and insects in short
grassy fields or for crumps around outdoor restaurants.
The birds are susceptible to avian pox, which can result in deformation of their feet.
