18-Aug-2022 G. Reifel Bird Sanctuary

Female Mallard

Anas platyrhynchos

This very friendly Mallard was the welcoming hostess to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary.
She just sat on the fence and enjoyed the view from the entrance lookout with all the other visitors.

I thought the selective colouring was kind of fun.

Ha, she seems very comfortable with life and her place on the fence. A different kind of duck photo! V

Wonderful! It's great, but not common that animals lose their fear of proximity to humans.

Such a wonderful shot! Love the clarity, colour, the sharp detail, and the 'smile' on the duck's face! VV
