Pseudo-holiday

With the restrictions on travel, my holiday budget for the summer has
gone to purchasing a new camera, the Fujifilm X100 V with a 23mm
(35mm equivalent) f 2.0 lens.
I have always liked the looks of this camera, it reminds me of my father’s
cameras that I use to admire as a child.
I’m going to try to be a tourist in my own city this summer
and give this camera a work out.

Please view in original size

At first glance I thought it was an old Leica. Is it a range finder?

Congratulations! I'm seriously considering this now, with that tilting screen it would be good for waist level
viewing use.

It’s not a red dot but at least it’s something red on the front. Cool. Wishing you many beautiful shots and happy shooting Raymond. Vv.

Got my first one in 2011 and immediately brought it to KL, Bali, Singapore and Manila as my only camera. It never failed me and always seemed to exceed my expectations. Ended up getting more and better shots with the small size, non-intimidating look and nighttime shooting capabilities. Now the proud owner of the Mark IV version and waiting for Asia and the EU to open up again. (Those galleries are down below on my site)

It's a beauty and I look forward to seeing your photos from you travels. Oddly enough, a new lens found its way into my possession, with similar justification!

Congratulations. I think Fujifilm makes some of the best street cameras around. I'm sure you will have a great time shooting with it.

Very nicely composed image. The style reminds me of the Leica M4. Looking forward to seeing images taken with your new camera. "V"

the clean, sharp image hints at what this camera should offer...good idea to re-direct vacations dollars this way, and get out locally for summer adventures...with few tourists arriving some city sights should be a breeze to check out..
