Farah

Photos from a trip to not-so-safe Farah province in April 2005. The highlight there was Faraidoon Castle (wow!!), a huge citadel supposedly built by Alexander the Great and later destroyed by invaders (the Mongols?). A village near Farah City is also home to the shrine of the Indian Sufi Sayyed Mohamed Jaunpuri (locally revered as Mir Sayed Mohamed Agha) that receives lots of visitors from India and Pakistan, or so I was told.

C) Zikr-e-Dawam (Constant Remembrance of Allah within) Allah says:- (S4-A103) Thus always remember Allah standing, sitting and lying down on your sides D) Tawakkul (Dependence on Allah) Allah says:- (S3-A159) Thus have trust in Allah indeed God loves those who have put trust in Him. E) Sohbat-e-Sadiqeen (Company of Ascetics) Allah says:- (S9-A119) O, believers fear Allah and be with the ascetics F) Hijrat (Migration) Allah says:- (S4-A97) Whether the earth of Allah was not wide enough to leave the native place and go to some other place. Such people will be thrown in to the Hell and it is a very terrible place. G) Uzhlat-az-Khalq (Retreat) Allah says:- (S73-A8) Come towards Allah leaving every one (Isolate from others) 3) Or is he just good pious man? Then the Black Banners will appear from the East and they will kill you in a way that has never before been done by a nation.” Thawban, a companion said: ‘Then he said something that I do not remember by heart’ then continued to say that the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, said: “If you see him give him your allegiance, even if you have to crawl over ice, because surely he is the Caliph of Allah, the Mahdi. If you see the black (meaning war) flags coming from Khurasan (Afghanistan), join that army, even if you have to crawl over ice, for this is the army of the Caliph, the Mahdi and no one can stop that army until it reaches Jerusalem.”(Son of Majah, Al Busiri, Al Hakim, Ahmad Nuaym, Ad-Daylami, Hasan, son of Sufyaan, and Abu Nuaym.) Ibne Majah Page 300, Also in Ahmad’s Musnad, al-Haakim’s Mustadrak and others *Note:[The authenticity of this hadith is duscussed in the end ] Only one part of this Hadith is said why is full hadith not said "for this is the army of the Caliph, the Mahdi and no one can stop that army until it reaches Jerusalem.” When did this mehdi claimant reached Jerusalem?

The citadel in Farah city was not built by Alexander the Greatn nor is it "ancient". The citadel is only estimated to be between 200-300 years old. The castle that Alexander built is on a hilltop south of the city near the ANA Kandak. It is a very steep climb and not much of the castle is left besides a few walls and a well.

I memory of my older son Farhad Jan sediqi who is not in this world now and left a big hole in my heart for ever, I will never forget his face and always smiles. I am from this village where the shrine of Mir Said Mohammad Junpuri is and a big graveyard of our villagers is around this Shrine. I graduated from the Atrodi Nawbahar high school which is locating behind of the Shrine on 1976. My late son Farhad Jan sediqi was so much loved our village. He came to Afghanistan for the vacations and wanted to go to Farah and visit the family members there, with regret that he lost his life by the road from Kandahar to Farah while 7 days was reminded to go back to India for the education. I request all to pray for his soul. God bless him. Fawad Jan sediqi and Jawad Jan sediqi is my second and third sons who are busy with the higher education in Pune University of India. My name is Farhad Sediqi, I am from Farah Afghanistan and was living and studying in this village many years before, and now I am in India for my higher education, I really loved the pictures in this site, I am always searching for Farah's pictures in google.com, I saw a beautiful pictures of Farah and clicked on the link, this wonderful site opened with beautiful pictures of Farah and my village, this village's name is Mazar and the Shrine's name is (Mir Sayed Mohamad Agha)......On the wall of the Shrine 100 years before people let their memories, and now some of them are alive and some of them are not in this world.....I also wrote my Name, Date of birth, Place of birth and E.T.C....... Still my uncles are livinig in this village and their names are: ( Abdul Qadus Sediqi and Abdul Qayoom Sediqi)......Beside of this shrine is a very big Grave Yard that my Grand Father, Grand Mother, My Father Inlaw and my elder Uncle's Graves are there......
