These are two of the three amateur-radio-equipped recumbent bikes. They pitched their tent next to us at Little Orleans. The fairings keep hazards (like wasps) away. Recumbents ride roughly though; the rider can't compensate for bumps in the trail. They said the radio connections (and fairing mounts) kept falling apart.
