On the weekend, I went with my host family visit San Ildefonso which is a short drive by car
from San Cristóbal de Segovia. San Ildefonso is a palace that was built for the Spanish royal
family. I am not sure if the royal family still stays there or not. I did not go into the palace. My
host family invited me to go tour the inside later on during my home stay, but it was close to the
end of my class so I was busy finishing my paper about the village.
Behind the palace there are gardens and fountains. I spent at least an hour with my host-sister
and host-brother walking around outside San Ildefonso.
