THE SUMMER RAINS
It is a cold yet lovely day today
and there’s a longing in the air,
I feel the very emptiness
of missing her.
I wander in the park today
calling out her name,
only an echo in the trees
and sobbing through my pain.
She tells me not to call her name
that she’s already here,
I listen to her silent voice
and wipe away a tear.
One day my weeping will be done,
no loss for me, no gains,
we’ll live behind the rainbow then
after the summer rains.
