Gate of All Nations, Persepolis

The Gate of All Nations at Persepolis was built by Xerxes.
The tall structure consisted of a large room supported by four stone columns.
Two massive bulls face out of the western entrance towards the setting sun, while two Lamassu protect the eastern entrance.
(A Lamassu is a protective deity, depicted with a bull or lion's body, eagle's wings, and human head).

While I am never a fan of visitor graffiti, some of the names carved on the walls are also now part of history (Henry Morton Stanley, Lord Curzon).
