Forrest Gump Point

State Route 163, Southern Utah

“I’m pretty tired. I think I’ll go home now.” Anyone who has seen the classic movie,
Forrest Gump, probably recognizes this area where Forrest stops running.
Actually, this spot is about 1/4 mile beyond that point.
When I reached "Forrest Gump Point", as it's called, there must have been
a dozen cars pulled over getting their shot. Not wanting to deal with all the congestion,
I tooled on down the road a bit to this point. Boy, did I upset a lot of people.
I could hear them yelling and honking for me to move. I just took my time and got my shot.
Beyond the ridge lies the northern reaches of Monument Valley. It's looks like I might just beat that rain following on my heels.
