Born in London and living in the US since 1979, I am an Architect during business hours and amateur astronomer by night. I spend many hours each week in front of a computer screen. Beginning in 1984, computers have enabled me to pursue my interests to a much greater extent. Architecture, photography, videography, astronomy, imaging, music and keeping in touch with my family in England. I also love traveling, which is a good thing because I often drive for 2 hours to be able to enjoy imaging and observing from a dark sky site.

In the fall of 2005, I set up my own observatory in the nearby mountains and beginning in 2011, I have been able to operate this observatory remotely from home. Here is a link to my Mountain Observatory page https://pbase.com/rjfletch/observatory

In spring 2009, I completed installation of a home observatory on a new concrete pad in my backyard. This allows me to image between new moon week-ends and also during the winter months (weather permitting) when it's not feasible to travel up into the mountains due to snow and wet ground conditions.
