IC 1396 Cepheus Bubble & Elephant's Trunk Nebula

The ionized gas region IC 1396 is located in the constellation Cepheus about 2,400 light years away from Earth. In the bottom left corner of this image,
there is a dark, dense globule designated IC 1396A; it is commonly called the Elephant's Trunk nebula. The bright star on the right side of this image is a
red supergiant star (Mu Cephei) named Erakis which is also known as Herschel's Garnet star.
