Located in Bete Grise Michigan on the UP's Keweenaw Peninsula, this light station which was originally established in 1870 and rebuilt in 1895, is currently occupied as a private residence. The light is active and considered a private aid to navigation. The lighthouse is of the Square/Integral Brick design, which is very common to this area. It was officially de activated in 1960 and re-established by its current owners who, from outward appearances, have done a magnificent job of restoration. The light is not open to the public and can be viewed only from the park across the Mendota Ship Channel or from a boat on the Lake.
