Established in 1849 and rebuilt in 1866 this lihgt was deactivated in 1927 and replaced by the light on the tower that stands beside it. The structure is of the Square Integral Brick typ that we have seen elsewhere on the UP and has been restored. The original light had a detached keepers house which is still standing and serves as a museum. The light is on an inaccessable (by land) point at the East end of Copper Harbor and is accessable only by boat. The guide is well informed and provides a tour of the lighthouse and surrounding area.
