Sand Point Light.jpg

Escanaba MI

Established in 1868 and located on the waterfront at Escanaba Michigan, it was somehow built backward with the light facing land. It was damaged by fire in 1886 killing the keeper and remained in service until 1939. It is a fully restored museum and is operated by the Delta County Historical Soicety on leas from the Coast Guard. The waterfront has been converted to a park with other museums located there.
