There are two sultan's/king's palaces (kraton) in Surakarta. This is the second and smaller of the two built in 1757. Part of the kraton is still occupied by the present king and his family. The photographs from an earlier visit in 2006 are shown here: https://pbase.com/rileyuni/mangku
