Central Alberta Train Museum

To many of you who grew up in the Edmonton-Calgary area in the early 1960's this will bring back familiar memories. This 1-3 car train was called the Dayliner and it zipped back and forth between Edmonton and Calgary with stops in places like my little town of Wetaskiwin where I grew up(loosely speaking). It was a treat to jump aboard for our adventure whenever my father would take us.My Dad was a train lover so he too enjoyed our trips down one day and then back the next.During winter storms this was the way to go to Calgary or Edmonton.Sadly this service was discontinued I believe in the 1970's.So anyway....making a short story long....this is the actual car I rode back then and all those boyhood memories came rushing back to me when I saw it!

I do hope that your initials aren't carved into the back of a seat somewhere? ;)

The actual car? Wow ~ i'm impressed that you know that!
Train travel was a wonderful way to get around ~ too bad it's not commonly done in the US any more...
