I was thrilled to be able to attend this event again this year.The costumes and colors are spectacular.There is a very strong spiritual element to this that sinks in a bit more every year I attend.It affects all the dancers differently and on different levels.
There is also the competition for cash prizes that are in the thousands of dollars so it is taken very seriously.Children really seem to love the Pow Wow.
There was a huge number of teepees and tents and trailers set up this year for those staying the weekend....and this event is attended by people from all over North America.
This day turned out to be the hottest day we have experienced this year with the thermometer soaring to 30c(86F) today and hotter predicted for tomorrow.The dancers had to be feeling the heat in their elaborate costumes.
I got to the 2nd of 3 days for this Pow Wow.It raps up Sunday,July 8th.
