This bird was apparently traveling with a rather scattered group of 67 Semipalmated Sandpipers that were feeding on the muddy bottom of a gully in the marsh opposite the Beach Pavillion about an hour after low tide. This is a reasonably late date for a Piper. No way to tell if it is one of the 30+ born here this season or a migrant.
